SOCIAL RECOVERY PROGRAM (SRP)
SERVING GOD AS WE SERVE IN OUR COMMUNITY
Calvary Charismatic Center, USA (CCC) is committed to providing compassionate assistance to individuals who are homeless in the Greater New York and Greater Chicago Metropolitan area, where there is an urgent need to care for the homeless population. CCC has developed a strategy whereby it will interact with the homeless population on a personal level. Our caregivers will bring the homeless into our shelter in batches of 30 people every three to-six months. CCC is currently liaising with our ministry partners for this provision.
During their time under CCC’s Social Recovery Program, these individuals will be fed and clothed. By providing these services, the homeless CCC serves will begin to foment a sense of their purpose and importance to the community-at-large. Psychologically, this
process will be empowering to these individuals and will prepare them for the next step
in CCC’s initiative: occupational and social training for re-integration into the
community as productive members of society.
CCC estimates that process will take between three-to-six months. For the
program to work effectively and result in self-sufficient members of society, CCC
has linked itself with potential employers of these individuals as well as other
organizations like The Salvation Army, to ensure their success in the re-integration
process.
This entire program virtually guarantees a reduction in homelessness within the
Metropolitan areas. Our approach will deal with each individual from a
one-to-one basis. The individual is counselled and provided with the necessary
knowledge he/she would need to recognize his/her potential. Oftentimes, the homeless
forget how important their role may be in the community. By instilling this sense of
purpose and direction, these individuals will move beyond a sense of hopelessness and
derision, which often compels them to remain in their underprivileged state. It is hoped
that many of them, after completing the Social Recovery Program, will return to counsel and empower other homeless individuals who will be participating in our program.
To implement this program in an efficient and secure way, CCC is developing
a budgetary plan that can achieve its aims in a cost-effective manner. Our budget
consists of relying upon grant awards, corporate donations, individual gifts, and citywide
fiscal initiatives. Of course, to achieve these kinds of funding outlets, CCC
understands that its mission must be recognized as relevant and responsive to the
needs of the Metropolitan areas. Based on our brief mission and outline
of services CCC will provide, it is our firm belief that this not-for-profit organization
will reduce homeless population and, as a result, create a productive
Community that prides itself on its diversity and strong work .
